One of a breed of diffident ditties which occasionally materialize, without fanfare, but then completely seduce me, demand to be recorded and remain a puzzle forever. Which is nice...
Come winter after all,
No longer in your thrall am I;
For love will keep me warm and make me weep -
Instead of all that dark and lonely sleep.
Come summer now, at last,
No longer going too fast am I.
For every season now love's reason's how.
And cowslips in the field relieve the yield of time.
